ABOUT EAMES OFFICE

How can architecture respond when the way we use a space changes?
It is a question that connects Charles and Ray Eames’ architectural thinking with the needs of contemporary workplace design. Through the Eames Pavilion System, Kettal and Eames Office explore how modular construction can create spaces that adapt while retaining their architectural character.

At Design at Work New York, both teams will discuss the collaboration’s journey from archival research to an engineered system for living and working today.

Eames Office 2

FROM EAMES ARCHITECTURAL RESEARCH TO CONTEMPORARY MODULAR DESIGN

First unveiled at Triennale Milano during Milan Design Week 2026, the Eames Pavilion System grew from extensive study of Charles and Ray Eames’ built and unbuilt residential projects.

Working closely with Eames Office, Kettal developed those principles into a fully engineered construction system for contemporary use, combining the Eameses’ architectural thinking with its expertise in modular construction and manufacturing.

Repeatable structural modules and interchangeable components allow configurations ranging from compact pavilions to two-story houses, with applications across residential, hospitality and workplace settings.
The result offers a framework for exploring how architecture can respond to different uses and changing needs.
